Dr. Mikah Sellers

Dr. Mikah Sellers works at the exact intersection where AI strategy meets organizational reality — and where most transformation efforts either compound into durable advantage or quietly stall.

With more than 20 years of experience in the CDO and CIO suite, Mikah has led enterprise transformation at scale, including digital platform overhauls, workforce redesigns, operating model development, and AI integration across Fortune 500 companies, global enterprises, and government organizations. He has sat in the room where the strategy was credible, the tools were right, and the results still disappointed — and he has spent his career understanding exactly why.

The answer, consistently, is that the limiting factor in transformation is not the technology. It is the quality of the human judgment, leadership, architecture, and organizational design surrounding it. That insight is the foundation of his advisory practice at Empathos, his doctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania, and his book, Forging Emotionally Intelligent Leaders in the Age of AI.

Today, Mikah serves executive teams as a fractional Chief AI Officer and transformation advisor — embedding with leadership to close the gap between AI adoption and AI advantage. His engagements typically involve assessing where intelligence is and isn’t compounding inside an organization, defining the future-state operating model the strategy requires, and building the implementation roadmap the leadership team can execute with accountability and confidence.

He is also the author of the Web of Minds series on AI orchestration and The Age of Copiloting on workforce transformation strategy, and co-hosts the Forces of Change podcast with Annie — exploring how AI, shifting economic systems, and evolving governance are redefining what it means to lead.

Prior to founding Empathos, Mikah served as Vice President of Digital for Everise across the Asia-Pacific region, Chief Digital Officer at Grafik — where he built the firm’s digital practice into its primary growth engine — and Chief Innovation Officer at Content Enablers, where he led the development of a next-generation cloud-based learning platform. Earlier roles included Solution Architect, Senior CRM Consultant, and Co-Founder of a venture-backed professional services firm.

An award-winning educator, Mikah taught technology leadership at Georgetown University for over a decade, earning the Tropaia Award for Outstanding Faculty. He holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership and Learning from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s in Education from Penn, and an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology, among other graduate credentials.
